ELIGIBLE TIRES

1.   All Sportsmen must use 8 inch Hoosier F-75 Tires.

2.   All Modifieds must use 8 inch Hoosier F-75 Tires.

 

 

TIRE SOFTENING OR ALTERING

1.   No heating, soaking, softening, grinding, buffing, or changing the composition and character of tire allowed.

 2.  A minimum durometer reading will be determined on selected events. 

      Failure to meet TBD minimum durometer reading will result in disqualification from event.

 

 

TIRE PURCHASE & RULES

1.   Tires must be purchased from Hawkeye Downs.

2.   Tires may be purchased only on pre-season "tire day," Wednesday night practices, and race nights.

3.   On designated pre-season tire day, each registered team may purchase as many tires as they wish.

4.   Team not purchasing tires on pre-season tire day may buy four (4) tires at first race.

5.   Serial Numbers of tires purchased will be recorded. 

6.   Race teams will not get extra tires for competition, no matter the circumstances.

7.   There is no provision to replace tires damaged on the track.  SAVE YOUR USED TIRES

8.   If a team elects to sell or give used tires to another team, both teams must notify the Chief Tech & Tire Inspector.

     Used tires given to another team (with the Chief Tech & Tire Inspectors permission) must stay with that team, and will continue to count toward total of original owner. Used tires will go against the total of the new user.

 9.  Teams may purchase any amount of tires. However, 6 new tires must be registered (declared) on “opening night”. The 2nd race will utilize the declared, unused 2 new tires and 2 used tires from “opening night. Every race thereafter will utilize a 1 new tire per race rule.

11.  Assume all declared tires will be impounded from race to race.

12.   Tires for specials are sold at Hawkeye Downs. These tires will not count towards the weekly racing.

13.  No “banking” tires. The tire purchased for the event must be raced that night.

14.  Tires may be confiscated at any time for any reason.

15.  Teams or “show cars” racing after “opening night” still must meet the 1 new tire rule. You are responsible for finding 3 used Hoosier  F-75 racing tires. All used tires must have readable Serial Numbers from Hoosier and must also pass pre-practice and post race inspections.

 

 

PENALTIES

1.   Penalties for breaking any tire rule will be disqualification from event, loss of purse money, points and/or loss of tire(s).

 

 

TESTING & TRACK RENTAL

1.     The only practice time is race night, and designated Wednesday Night practices (5pm-8pm).

2.     Track rentals are permitted with dates and times TBD upon availability.
