2008 Late Models Rules Update 3/4/08

The ASA Late Model Series Northern Division has published the 2008 rules on the ASA website. Hawkeye Downs prefers the ASA Late Model Series Northern Division rules package. You may access these rules by visiting http://www.asalatemodelsnorth.com

New rules for Hawkeye Downs in 2008

1.) The allowance of the old HD 9 to 1 engine is allowed again under the 2004 Hawkeye Downs rules. These rules will be posted shortly on the website under..."2008 9-1 Engine Rules".

2.) Engine and body manufactures need not to be the same. For example: You can race a Ford body with a Chevy motor. This new rule may not be legal for other ASA racing bodies. Please check those respective series websites.

3.) New tires rules, as stated on this website, are the 1070 Hoosiers as the new compound.

Late Models with a HD 9-1 motor must meet all other ASA Late Model Series Northern Division rules. It is expected that the current base weight will be 2700 lbs.

With Hawkeye Downs continuing to be opening up the engine rules for Late Models in 2008, the right is reserved to adjust these rules as needed in an effort to ensure fair competition among all the participants.

This could mean adding or taking away weight to the other non-ASA Northern Division Late Models if there is an unfair advantage.

Any Super Late Models, meeting the ASA Midwest Tour rules and racing at Hawkeye Downs, must weigh 50 lbs. heavier than the stated weight in the current ASA Midwest Tour rules, at all times with driver in vehicle.

As a reminder, the ASA Midwest Tour rules can be found at http://www.asamidwesttour.com.

If you have additional questions please contact Hawkeye Downs.
