RACING RETURNS TO HAWKEYE DOWNS THIS SATURDAY

( Cedar Rapids, IA 9/23/03)—The sounds of race cars will fill the air this Saturday, September 27 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. The “Altorfer Machinery Tune up to the Challenge Cup” is the first of four Fall races at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

Pit gate opens at 9am Saturday, with Practice at 11am. Grandstand gates open at 11am with racing at 1pm. Adult grandstand admission is $10, with Children 11 and under admitted free.

Racing this Saturday are Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Cruisers, and 4 Cylinders. Each division will have heats and feature.

Saturday’s racing program is a prelude to the ‘Marines.com ¼ Mile Challenge Cup II.” To be held October 11 and 12 at Hawkeye Downs. Entries have been received from 7 states for the October event, and many of those drivers will be racing this Saturday at Hawkeye Downs.

Other Fall racing programs at Hawkeye Downs Speedway include the ‘Halloween Challenge” Saturday November 1 and the “2^nd annual Turkey Derby” Saturday, November 29.
