KEN SCHRADER, DIRT CARS AT HAWKEYE DOWNS THIS TUESDAY

(Cedar Rapids, IA 7/7/03)—NASCAR driver Ken Schrader and IMCA dirt track cars are the featured attraction at a special Tuesday night race this week at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. Schrader will be driving his own dirt Late Model, competing with the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series Late Models in their only pavement race.

Other clases competing in Tuesday’s “Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation Dirt at the Downs” are IMCA Special K Motorsports Dirt Stock Cars, IMCA Dirt Hobby Stocks, and Duffy’s Collectible Cars Legends. Grandstand gate open at 6pm with Practice at 6pm and Racing at 7:30pm. Adult, Senior and Student Grandstand Admission is $15 with Children 11 and Under admitted Free.

This is Schrader’s fourth straight year racing with the IMCA Dirt Late Models at Hawkeye Downs. He won the event in 2001 and has been a top five finisher each year. Schrader will remain in the pit area after the races for autographs and photos.

Top driver’s expected include IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series point leader Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, IL; Brian Harris of Davenport, IA; and former Hawkeye Downs asphalt standout Greg Kastli of Waterloo. IA
