ASA PAPA JOHN'S CUP I-WIRELESS SERIES BACK IN ACTION

(Cedar Rapids, IA 6/15/04)--After a week off due to

the Hawkeye Downs Fair, the ASA Papa John's Cup

I-Wireless Racing Series resumes at Hawkeye Downs

Speedway this Friday night.  Divisions in action

include Performance Concepts Late Models, Miller Time

Modifieds, Budweiser Late Model Sportsmen, Barron

Motor Supply Super Stocks, Marines.com IMCA Hobby

Stocks, and Women On Wheels.

 

        With the Miller 100 next week, and Winged Outlaw

Sprint Cars July 2, this is the last time all six

divisions race until July 9

 

        Friday's event is Landstar Safety Night with a

Hochstetler Towing Kids Bike Giveaway.  Friday's event

is also another "Neighbors Night," with residents of

Alburnett, Center Point, Palo, Robbins, and Toddville

admitted for $1 in the grandstand.

 

        Brad Osborn has been the most successful driver at

Hawkeye Downs this year, winning 3 of the 4

Performance Concepts Late Model features.  He leads

the division standings, 14 points ahead of runner-up

Jeff King.

 

        Also off to a good start is Jeff Selfridge, winner of

2 of the first three Marines.com IMCA Hobby Stock

features.  He leads the division standings, 2 points

ahead of Matt Poduska.

 

        Kandi Floyd has won both Women on Wheels features,

and has a 6 point lead over Connie Binder.

 

        The Miller Time Modifieds, Budweiser Late Model

Sportsmen, and Barron Motor Supply Super Stocks have

not had a repeat winner this season. 

 

        Arlo Becker leads the Modifieds, 16 points ahead of

defending champ Bob Gase.

 

        Bob Ahrendsen is the Late Model Sportsmen leader, 6

points ahead of Kevin Korsmo.

 

        Dave McCalla tops the Super Stocks, 2 points ahead of

Ahrendsen, who races two divisions.

 

        Gates open and practice starts at 6pm Friday, with

Racing at 7:30pm.  Adult Grandstand Admission is $10,

Senior Citizens and Students Grandstand Admission is

$7, Children 11 and Under are Admitted for $1.
