FIVE DIVISIONS IN ACTION THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, MAY 24
(Cedar Rapids, IA 05/21/02)—The ASA Papa John’s Cup presented by Iowa Wireless resumes this Friday, May 24 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. Five divisions will be in action, with dashes, heats, and features in all classes.
This Friday night is Labor Union
Night. Union Members, and one guest, will be admitted to the grandstand for $7
each upon presentation at the ticket office of a Union Card. Regular admission price is $10 Adults, Senior
Citizens and Students $7, Children 11 and Under Free.
So far this season, 19 different
drivers have one the 19 ASA Papa John’s Cup presented by Iowa Wireless
features. Two of the five division leaders have yet to win their first feature.
In Performance Concepts Late Models,
Doug Hite hasn’t won a feature yet, but leads the division by 6 points over
Brian Gibson, who won the 50 lap feature May 10. Mike Ehde is third, 10 points
out of first.
Brian Franks leads the Budweiser
Sportsmen standings, 6 points ahead of defending champion Curt Van Der Wal.
John Henecke is third, 20 points out of first.
Brian Allen, the May 10 feature
winner, leads the Miller Time Open Wheel Modifieds standings, 4 points ahead of
Trent Ross. Bob Gase is third 6 points behind Allen.
Doug Simon is still looking for his
first feature win, but leads the Barron Motor Supply Super Stock standings. May
10 winner Brad Dvorak is second, 8 points out of first. Jayson Scott is third,
24 points behind Simon.
Kyle Heinrichs won his first feature
May 10, and has the point lead. Kevin Foreman is second, only two points out of
first. Tom Frady is third, 12 points behind Heinrichs.
Grandstand Gates open Friday at 6pm
with racing at 7:30pm.
