HAWKEYE DOWNS ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE AND DIVISIONS FOR MAY 11-12 ASA LATE MODEL SERIES CHALLENGE WEEKEND

(Cedar Rapids, IA 04/30/07)—The ASA-Sanctioned Hawkeye Downs Speedway will feature two nights of racing action on May 11-12 as the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division hits Cedar Rapids for the “Crate Motor Classic 200.”

On Friday night, May 11, the ASA Late Model Challenge will run two practice sessions as part of the regular racing program to rev up the fans for their Saturday evening qualifying and race.

Also on the card that night are the Miller Time Modifieds, Budweiser Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods and Go-Karts.

On Friday, Grandstand opens at 6pm with Hawkeye Downs divisions starting Practice at the same time. Racing is slated for 7pm. Regular admission prices will apply for Friday night.

On Saturday, May 12 the Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks and the Sunline Hornets will join the program and run prior to the “Crate Motor Classic 200” for the ASA Late Models Series Challenge.

On Saturday, the Grandstand gates open at 5pm with the Hawkeye Downs divisions practicing at that time. ASALMS qualifying is scheduled for 6pm with Hawkeye Downs heat races to run at approximately 7:15 pm.
