SEVEN DIVISIONS IN ACTION AT HAWKEYE DOWNS THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

 

(Cedar Rapids, IA 04/30/07)—This Friday night, May 4, seven divisions will do battle on the quarter and half-mile tracks at  ASA Sanctioned Hawkeye Downs Speedway when All Seasons Equipment presents action in the Papa Johns Cup/ I-Wireless Championships.

 

            The IMCA Sportmods will take to the quarter-mile for their second week in action with Tony Olson trying for his second win in the new class. Also on the quarter are Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Cars,  Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Sunline Hornets.

 

            The Performance Concepts Late Models will join the Budweiser Sportsmen and the Miller Time Modifieds on the half-mile to round out a full night of exciting racing.

 

            With just one week of racing in the books, last weeks’ feature winners are leading the points.

 

            Tim Plummer holds the top spot in the Miller Time Modifieds with Arlo Becker and Shawn Stinger right behind.

 

            Andy Duggan is the Budweiser Sportsmen point leader with Dave McCalla and Martin Ballard next in line.

 

            The Barron Motor Supply IMCA Stock Car point leader is Doug Otto. Dennis Hundley and Bob Ahrendsen hold down the second and third positions.

 

            At the top of the point chart in Barron Motor Supply IMCA Hobby Stocks is Rodney Grother with Gary Pfantz and Tim Dains in second and third.

 

            Brian Beaty has the slim lead in the Sunline Hornets standings while the Bighouse Motorsports entry, which was piloted by Jeff Selfridge last week, is in second. Shawn Myers holds down third.

 

            Finally, Tony Olson has early command of the IMCA SportMod standings with Arnie Reif and Jim Buhlman right behind.

 

            Grandstand opens and Practice starts at 6pm with Racing slated for 7pm.

 

Grandstand admission prices remain the same as last season.  Children (0-11) are $1.00; Students (12-17) are $7.00; Adults (18-61) are $10.00; and Senior Citizens (62+) are admitted for $7.00.
