BANNER VALLEY OPENING NIGHT RAINED OUT AT HAWKEYE DOWNS

(Cedar Rapids, IA 4/30/04)--Hawkeye Downs Speedway suffered its first complete rain-out since May 26, 2000 Friday night. The afternoon rains forcedofficials to cancel "Banner Valley Opening Night." The event will not be rescheduled.

Hawkeye Downs will open its season next Friday night, May 7 with Yellow Book USA Mid American Stock Cars and Super Trucks headlining the program. Also scheduled next Friday are ASA Papa John's Cup I-Wireless Championship events for Performance Concepts Late Models, Miller Time Modifieds, Barron Motor Supply Super Stocks, and Marines.com IMCA Hobby Stocks. The Mid American Stock Car event will also be a point racefor Hawkeye Downs Budweiser Late Model Sportsmen.

Gates open and practice starts at 5pm next Friday with Time Trials at 6:45pm and Racing at 7:30pm.
