OPEN PRACTICE THIS SATURDAY AS HAWKEYE DOWNS SEASON NEARS

 

(Cedar Rapids, IA 4/16/03)—Hawkeye Downs Speedway will host an open “Test and Tune” this Saturday, April 19, Noon-5pm. All Hawkeye Downs divisions will be allowed to practice. Grandstand Admission is Free.

 

          The raindate for Saturday’s practice is Wednesday, April 23, 5pm-9pm. There will not be practice Wednesday if Saturday’s practice is held.

 

          Hawkeye Downs Speedway opens its 2003 Season Friday, April 25. In action opening night will be performance Concepts Late Models, Miller Time Modifieds, Budweiser Late Model Sportsmen, Barron Motor Supply Super Stocks, and Duffy’s Collectible Cars Legends.

 

          Fans will see several improvements at Hawkeye Downs this year, including new Miller Digital scoreboard, Budweiser Infield Message Center, Alliant Energy Timing and Scoring, and Home Depot VIP Observation Deck.

 

          Several special events are scheduled at Hawkeye Downs in May, including Mid-American Super Trucks Friday, May2, USAC Sprints Cars and Midget cars Thursday and Friday May 15 and 16; and the ASA Racing Series Saturday, May 24.

 

          The USAC and ASA events are their only appearances at Hawkeye Downs this year.
