HAWKEYE DOWNS CAR COUNT UP FOR 2005

(Wednesday, April 7, 2005)--Hawkeye Downs Speedway held its pre season registration Tuesday and Wednesday, and officials are excited to report the car count has increased dramatically on the half mile.

Compared to the end of the 2004 Season, car count for the three half mile divisions has increased by 26%.

There was a slight decrease in car count on the quarter mile, due to several drivers moving up to the half mile. Still, car count overall is up 11%.

Late Model registration is up 30%, while Late Model Sportsmen and Modified registration is up 28%.

Twelve former Hawkeye Downs divisional champions are among those entered.

Racing starts Friday, April 29 at Hawkeye Downs. An Open Practice session, with Free Admission, will be held Friday, April 22 6pm-9pm.
